Following new guidance from the Minnesota Dept. of Health released on March 12, Osseo Area Schools is implementing new actions to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19 (coronavirus). Effective Friday, March 13, most school-sponsored activities will be canceled through the end of spring break (through April 12).
Reservations by outside groups using school facilities are also canceled for the same time frame. Permit holders will be contacted by the district’s facilities reservations department.
Canceled activities include:
- Events that would bring parents and other community members into school facilities. Examples include (not an all-inclusive list): school carnivals, parent/teacher conferences, plays, concerts, and science nights.
- Field trips that would take students into the community. Examples include (not an all-inclusive list): field trips to outside venues, and other cities, states, and/or countries.
After-school child care (Kidstop) is not affected and will continue as usual.
Activity team practices remain on as scheduled; any action regarding competitive events governed by the MN State High School League will be determined by the League in consultation with schools.
We are monitoring the situation closely and will continue to follow guidance from federal and state authorities.
