Following new guidance from the Minnesota Dept. of Health released on March 12, Osseo Area Schools is implementing new actions to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19 (coronavirus). Effective Friday, March 13, most school-sponsored activities will be canceled through the end of spring break (through April 12). Our new protocol recommends schools cancel:
Events that would bring parents and other community members into school facilities. Examples include (not an all-inclusive list): school carnivals, parent/teacher conferences, plays, concerts, and science nights.
Field trips that would take students into the community. Examples include (not an all-inclusive list): field trips to outside venues, and other cities, states, and/or countries.
Weaver-specific canceled activities include:
- Kindergarten orientation (originally scheduled for Thursday, March 19th) is cancelled
- Weaver Lake School Carnival (originally scheduled for Friday, March 27th) is cancelled, however the Carnival's silent auction will be moved online and otherwise continue as planned. The carnival's raffle will be closed sooner than initially planned, so please turn in your purchased tickets at your earliest convenience. More information to come soon.
- Building Tours are cancelled until after Spring Break.
After-school child care (Kidstop) is not affected and will continue as usual.
