Retrieve a Golden of the Midwest Service Project

Since 2012, Weaver Lake Teachers Shannon LaTourelle (2nd Grade) and Judi Andersson (4th Grade) have annually partnered with the RAGOM organization to tie dog beds for Golden Retrievers in need. They started the project because of their love of dogs and to create a service project for their two classes. They also raise funding for the RAGOM organization, averaging $300 each year. This year they set a new personal record of $544 donated!

The RAGOM rescue center began in 1985 when Hank and Jane Wygaard rehabilitated their first homeless Golden Retriever. Over the years this agency has rescued and rehomed more than 9,000 dogs, including some as far away as Turkey and China.
