Kao Kalia Yang is a Hmong-American writer as well as a teacher and public speaker. She is the author of The Latehomecomer: A Hmong Family Memoir, The Song Poet, and What God is Honored Here?: Writings on Miscarriage and Infant Loss By and For Indigenous Women and Women of Color. She visited Weaver Lake on Friday, January 31st and delivered a parent & community discussion before school as well as an all-school assembly where she read her picture book A Map into the World.
