Where did you go to school and what is your previous job experience?

I have an Associates degree from North Hennepin Community College and will have my teaching license and Bachelor’s degree in math education by the end of the school year.

When was your first year at Park Center?

I started in October of 2007, but I have spent many hours volunteering at Park Center.

What is your teaching philosophy?

If I give you the answer, then who is doing the thinking?

Why did you choose your profession?

I think everyone is capable of learning mathematics and I like having the opportunity to impact a young person’s life.

What is your favorite quote?

“…grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.”

Advice for students going to college?

Carry a Planner and USE IT! Write down everything including when you’re going to eat, do homework, and sleep.

Biggest pet peeve?

It erks my nerves when passengers in my car honk my horn while I’m driving.

Soccer, basketball, and playing catch up with my friends and family

If you were required to find a different job then what you are currently doing, what would you choose?

The only other career I was ever seriously considering was becoming a dental hygienist, but if I could stand to be away from my life in Minnesota I would want to do something where I could travel.
