Ms. Kate Kallevig, KallevigK@district279.org

Where did you go to school and what is your previous job experience?

I went to high school in Fairmont and then to college at the U of M in Duluth. This is my very first teaching job.

When did you begin working at Park Center?

What is your teaching philosophy?

Every student has a right to learn and be successful. I hope they leave my classroom with an air of confidence within themselves and a constant desire to be better in life.

Why did you choose your profession?

Both of my parents are amazing teachers, I watched how students changed and became better people because of them. I have watched how their passion for teaching and directing grows daily, and I think there was nothing better I could wish for than to become a teacher. I can only hope I am half the teacher they are!

What is your favorite quote?

“Music is the universal language of mankind” – Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

Or “did I catch a niner in there, are you talking on a walkie-talkie?” – Tommy Boy

In what room(s) can you commonly be found?

Choir room/auditorium

Additional Comments(hobbies)?

I love baseball, especially the Minnesota Twins, I love to hang out with my family and friends, also travel to New York City and see really good theater .

Advice for students going to college?

Enjoy every waking moment, you can sleep when you are dead.

Biggest pet peeve?

People who can’t walk in their shoes, and dishonesty.

Sum up your career at Park Center in one word
