Where did you go to school and what is your previous job experience?

I graduated from Como Park High school in St. Paul in 1994 and attended Concordia University, St. Paul. I graduated with a BA in Elementary Education. I continued on to get my Bilingual and ESL K-12 licensure from Hamline Univserity. After 5 years at Minneapolis Public Schools, I joined Osseo Area Schools working at Garden City Elementary as a 2nd grade ELL teacher.

Fall 2008

What is your teaching philosophy?

All student can learn if the support mechanisms are in place to make sure they give in their 110%

Why did you choose your profession?

I had many teachers throughout my educational career that inspired me do something that I loved. When I was a freshman in high school, I knew that I wanted to become a teacher because I loved to work with kids and inspire them to be the best that they can be.

What is your favorite quote?

What you put out comes back all the time, no matter what.

In what room(s) can you commonly be found?

305 – is my main room. I also teach READ 180 in rooms 307 & 301.

Taking pictures of my five girls, ages 4-12; traveling

Advice for students going to college?

Search for scholarships money. There’s free money out there waiting to be claimed.

Biggest pet peeve?

Side-bar conservations & late work!

If you were required to find a different job than what you are currently doing, what would you choose?

I would have my own photography studio taking pictures of children.
