Where did you go to school and what is your previous job experience?

Gustavus Adolphus College BA ; St. Cloud State MA. Served as Legislative Aide for Congressman Oberstar in Washington DC right out of college. Then spent 3 years in Peace Corps in Namibia, Africa.

How long have you worked at Park Center?

Started here as student teacher in 1996. Started getting paid to teach here in 1997.

What is your teaching philosophy?

Establish structure first, then individualize the instruction within the established structure.

Why did you choose your profession?

For the chance to interact each day with interesting, worldly young adults.

What is your favorite quote?

I would rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy.

Advice for students going to college?

Unless you know what you really want to do after college, go to a 2 year school first and transfer later. Develop some practical skills (plumbing, carpentry, auto repair, etc.) along the way.

Biggest pet peeve?

When rules are set up but not enforced.

If you were required to find a different job than what you are currently doing, what would you choose?

Major League baseball statistician or groundskeeper. Or owner of a lodge near some remote game park in Africa.
