Please click on the link on the right side of this page (three kids sitting at computers) to see when your child’s class will be taking the MCA’s and the MAP assessments. The purpose of the assessments is for us to evaluate both the progress of each individual student and the quality of the programs we are providing at Park Brook Elementary. There is no way to ‘study for the test’ as the students have been preparing since the day after the students took the test last year. Your child takes the test and then we will continue to teach for the remainder of the year. There are way to ensure that your child is prepared to take the test: sleep, exercise, and eat healthy foods. These three ways of preparing physically for the day of the test are also essential for every school day so that they can learn each and every day that they are in school.
In addition to the three ways of preparing physically for the test, we also want to encourage students to read at home every day.
Students in grade 3-5 will take the MCA’s and students in grades 2-5 will take the MAP assessments.
