+May Orchestra News
This has been a wonderful school year. Our 5th grade students have gone from knowing nothing about playing in orchestra to being able to play songs in four part harmony! Our 6th grade students have learned many new skills, perfected their playing, and learned more about how to work and play in a large group orchestra setting. It has been very exciting watching all of the students learn and grow.
Please remember that we still have Tour Day coming up in May and your child will need to have their permission slip turned in and money for their lunch in their pockets. With that in mind, please be aware that ALL SCHOOL OWNED INSTRUMENTS MUST BE RETURNED DURING THE FOLLOWING WEEK.
Parents, please keep in mind that your student has grown over the school year and will continue to grow over the summer. Many students will need to trade their current instrument for a larger size for next year. I am more than willing to measure your child now and let you know what size will be needed for fall. Please either send me an e-mail or have your child ask me to measure him/her in class. It is in your best interest to secure the new instrument size for your child before the middle of August. There are many more choices available from local instrument dealers before the new students are trying to secure theirs in the fall.
Thank you, parents, for all of the time and effort you spent helping your child practice and driving to concerts and rehearsals this year. Without you, we couldn’t do it!
