About Park Brook
Park Brook Elementary is located in the Hartkopf Neighborhood of Brooklyn Park directly across the street from Hartkopf Park and is part of the Osseo Area School District. There are approximately 300 students who attend Park Brook in Pre-kindergarten through fifth grade.
Park Brook Elementary is a school Focused on Fitness to increase academic growth and the health benefits for students. Programs have been put into place before and after school to provide opportunities for students to move. Each school day begins with a ‘Brain Boost’ to prepare students for learning and then throughout the day teachers incorporate additional ‘Brain Boosts’ for the purpose of increasing academic growth.
Throughout the year we offer a variety of activities before and after school for students. In addition to the fitness activities, we offer a choir, cooking classes, art classes and field trips outside of the regular school day. The before and after school classes offered vary each year. There are several fitness field trips offered on weekends during the school year.
Staff members are dedicated to increasing the academic growth of each individual student. In December of 2013 Park Brook Elementary was named a Celebration School by the Minnesota Department of Education. This distinction is based upon academic growth students made and systems in place to meet the academic needs of the students. We carefully monitor the growth of all students, at all academic levels, with the goal of all students meeting or exceeding their expected academic growth. Additional information regarding assessment scores can found towards the bottom of Mr. Taylor’s page.
In October of 2014 Park Brook Elementary was declared Celebration Eligible by the Minnesota Department of Education. This distinction is based upon MCA scores from the spring of 2014.
