Fall Boot Camp will be held on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays beginning Monday, September 11 from 3:20 p.m. – 4:15 p.m. This session of Boot Camp will be offered to students in grades 1-5. The purpose of Boot Camp is to prepare students for the school year. Research indicates that increasing fitness and movement increases academic growth. Students involved will participate in a variety of fun-filled fitness activities. Activities will include relay races, large-group games, running, fitness stations and choice activities. Students will be expected to be moving. Staff members choose different activities for each day.
Students are welcome to sign-up for all three days each week, two-days-per-week, or one-day-per-week. If a student is registered, they are expected to stay unless we receive a note or a phone call from a parent/guardian.
Students will be able to register for Boot Camp during Open House or during the first week of school. Students who are enrolled during the first week of school need to register by Friday, September 8 so that we can have accurate lists in all of our classrooms of who is participating and which days they are participating.
This session of Boot Camp will end on Thursday, September 28. All students whether or not they participated in Boot Camp are welcome to register for the Twin Cities 5K which will be held on Saturday, September 30 in St. Paul. A bus will take students from Park Brook to the Twin Cities 5K. Parents are welcome to come along and cheer on students at the Twin Cities 5K.
