Monday, September 14 is the first day of school. The first two-weeks of school will be Distance Learning, and we anticipate students will return to school in the Hybrid Model the week of September 28.
By Thursday, September 10 classroom schedules will be posted on grade-level websites that can be found here. On the grade-level websites there will be a place where students can click to connect with their teacher and class on the first day of school.
You can find grade-level websites, along with physical education, music, counselor and other websites by clicking on the red circle in the middle of the webpage that says, “click here”, or by going to the Academics drop-down menu at the top of the page.
Kindergarten – 3rd grade iPads: Two apps have been placed on the home screen of the iPads: one that takes students directly to the Park Brook Webpage, and the other that takes students to the webpage with grade-level websites. Using the iPads will be the easiest way for students to join their class on Google Meet.
4th and 5th grade students can go to the Park Brook website on their Chromebooks and then to the ‘red circle’ to find the grade-level websites and join their class. We strongly encourage students to use the district-issued devices to connect with their class.
Classroom teachers will review schedules with their class and introduce the students to Seesaw which will be a place where students can go directly to their class, complete work, and parents can send and receive messages to their children’s teachers. On the iPads there is a direct link to Seesaw.
Mr. Taylor posts information and videos on his website, that might be helpful to you. You can access his webpage from the ‘red circle’, the ‘About Us’ drop-down menu, or here.
A number of families were able to pick up devices the first week of September, but we know the schedule did not work for all families. Devices will be delivered to your homes.
Osseo Area Schools will continue to monitor COVID-19 and work with the Minnesota Department of Health and the Minnesota Department of Education to adjust as necessary our instructional model to slow the spread of COVID-19.
Park Brook Elementary is working to create a school that is safe. While safety is of utmost concern, we are also striving to create a welcoming atmosphere for our students where they will enjoy learning.
