Layla Vinje, eighth grade cello player from Osseo Middle School, has auditioned and made it into the Minnesota String and Orchestra Teachers Association (MnSOTA) state-wide Middle Level Honors Orchestra. Layla submitted recordings for audition which were reviewed by a judge and has made 4th chair in an orchestra of 46 select students from across Minnesota. Her orchestra teacher, Mrs. Heidi Stodola stated “Layla is a wonderful cellist who works hard and is a true leader in our program.”
Layla and her parents are very excited for this opportunity. Layla started cello when she was 7 years old, has taken private lessons ever since, and studies cello with Diane Tremaine. The Middle Level Honors Orchestra performance will be on Saturday, February 18 at 11:00 am in the Ballroom of the Minneapolis Convention Center for an audience of the state music educators convention (MMEA). Family and friends are welcome to attend for free.
