The OALC offers several programs. Below is a brief description of each. Talk to a counselor at 763-391-8890 for more information about any of the programs.
- The Osseo Area Learning Center (Grades 9-12) is a distinctively alternative setting that meets the educational needs of students who require an environment that suits their learning style and provides them the best opportunity to succeed. To this end, an attitude of alternative education is fostered within the Osseo Area Learning Center (OALC), so that every student has the opportunity to become a contributing member of society and obtain the ability to serve in his or her respective role. Students attend school Monday through Friday.
- The Seat-Based Credit Recovery program offers courses in the 9th grade core curriculum areas (English, Social Studies and Science) plus Algebra and Geometry at no cost to the student. This program gives students the opportunity to replace their failing grade and make up one or more 9th grade core or math credits needed for graduation. Courses operate at the OALC after school during second and third trimesters, and during the summer. Please contact your student’s counselor for registration information for more information.
- Day care services are available for children of enrolled day school students.
- Tomorrow's College Readiness is a great way to see what it's like to go to college without the expensive college bills. Students can earn their high school diploma AND a credential from Hennepin Technical College (HTC) to prepare you for success after high school. You will take college classes at the Brooklyn Park HTC campus and the OALC. Contact the number above for more information.
