Please look at the following documents below for information regarding student testing.
Starting on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 your sophomore or junior will take the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment (MCA) test in Science, Reading and Math. Please see the schedule below. I am writing today to make you aware of a new state requirement. Minnesota law now requires all school districts to indicate the status of a student’s career and college readiness. For the Osseo Area Schools, we are in the process of determining exactly how this information will be shared. For more information regarding this please reference Minnesota Statute 120B.30, Subd. 1(K) for details.
Students should be aware of the new requirements as they approach the upcoming MCA testing window. To access online MCA item samplers please visit: http://minnesota.personsaccessnext.com/item-samplers/
Materials needed for test day:
- All student are encouraged to get a good night’s sleep, eat breakfast and come prepared to provide his or her best effort.
- Students taking the Science and Math MCA’s will need to bring headphones.
- Students taking Math MCA can bring a handheld calculator. If they choose to bring a calculator the memory will need to be cleared and testing mode applied (please see http://www.act.org for list of approved and prohibited calculators).
We appreciate your assistance as you encourage your student to take these tests seriously so that the results accurately reflect their educational attainment. If you have any questions, please contact Maple Grove Senior High, Assistant Principal Tamiko Thomas.
