Maple Grove Senior High School, which opened in 1996, is one of three senior high schools that serve over 21,000 students in District 279, the fifth largest school district in the state. The district also includes 4 junior high schools, 17 elelmentary schools, and 1 area learning center. In 2013-14, there will be nearly 17,00 students enrolled in grades 10-12 at Maple Grove Senior High. In the seventeen years of its existence, Maple Grove Senior High has established a reputation as a school that holds all students to high standards, offereing a comprehensive curriculum with over 200 courses. Opportunities for enriched curriculum include: Advanced Placement (AP) courses, Autonomous Learner Program (ALP), Honors Program (HP). We also offer Post Secondary Enrollment Options (PSEO).

Foundations is a curriculum based advisory program with four specific goals:
Students keep the same Foundations teacher throughout their high school career. Completion of required Foundations curriculum is required for seniors to participate in commencement.
