4 MGSH STUDENTS QUALIFY FOR DEBATE NATIONALS
In the National Speech & Debate Association (NSDA) Northern Lights district, two Public Forum (PF) debate teams can qualify to the National tournament. Maple Grove earned both spots, so we will be sending four students to Nationals. To qualify, both PF teams (Aditya Pidaparti - Anthony Bogachev and Seth Thompson - Ryan Hankins) had to face several competitors without getting defeated twice ("double elimination"). This accomplishment is especially impressive for Seth and Ryan, as they are sophomores.Last year, we sent five students to the National tournament, and we have two more national qualifying tournaments yet to go this season (Congress and Speech) before we have a final number of students that will be competing at Nationals.
Congratulations Debate Team!
