Enjoy making things? In this yearlong class, students explore a variety of topics, including food preparation, nutrition, career exploration, understanding personal purchases, financial literacy, growth and development of children, and a design project. Students learn the basics of cooking and work in small group cooking labs. Students learn how to become informed and responsible lifelong learners who are able to make healthy decisions regarding diet, fitness and lifestyle. Students also investigate the exciting world of careers.

Want to do a little of everything? From children to food and design to money, this project-based course gives students more practice with skills that help daily life and lead to success in the workplace. Students will explore design, personal financial responsibility, and the science behind food preparation. Students will work collaboratively to make floor plans, develop financial awareness and prepare delicious healthy foods. Exploring careers and occupational pathways are woven into this fun and fast-paced curriculum.
