It was such a pleasure to bring the Book Fair back to Garden City. I am thrilled that it was such a success! I had set a goal of $1,700 in sales, and we came within $100 of doubling that goal. This means the school got 55% back to buy books for classrooms and the library. With your support teachers that filled out wish lists for their classroom libraries got every book on their list (unless we were sold out of the book). In addition, there is also $850 worth of new books on the way to our library.
The success of the Book Fair would haven't been possible without the help of Julie Linder, who helped me get volunteers, and Amari Butler, my Media Clerk. I couldn't have done the fair successfully without the help of Angelina Venegas, Darryl Sannes, and Amber Kaspar in setting up the fair the Friday before. I would also have been lost without the help fo Amber Kaspar, Cindy Xiong, and Tanya Fleming during the fair itself. And a special thanks, to Amber Kaspar for helping survive breaking down the fair to send it back. Thanks to the staff for their support by visiting the fair and being flexible with the change in their daily schedule as the fair took up the whole library.
Because we sky-rocketed past our goal, Mr. Branch let the students soak him with water balloons on Friday.
Pre-Kindergarten students got their own shot at Mr. Branch in the morning.
In the afternoon, Kindergarden through 5th grade got the chance to surround Mr. Branch and pelt him with water balloons. The high temperatures on Friday made it the perfect day to get drenched.
