140 plus students spent 8 weeks participating in several invigorating, community-building activities. Classes offered this session were Sports Hour, Little Lego, Story & Activity Hour, Stretch, Coding, Express Yourself Dance, Photography & Lego League. The Lego group participated in a local competition and the older students won an award. And the dance team has plans to perform at the Garden City talent show in the spring. Funded by targeted services, the classes not only give students and staff a chance to develop skills, but offer a chance to form personal relationships and showcase teacher skills not normally seen in the normal school day. Co-facilitator Melissa Johnson says GC plans to hold another session of Ride the WAVE in the spring with new classes being offered.
