Paws for Reading, the Book Fair is Coming!

bookfairI'm so excited to be coordinating my first book fair at Garden City! The book fair is a great way to get your students  books to read on the weekends and during the summer. Every book bought helps us get more books for the school  and classrooms to enrich your children's educational experience. Our book fair will be open the week of May 7th - 11th  from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday to Wednesday and Friday. Thursday the fair will be open from 9:00 am tp 4:00 pm, and 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm for Multicultural Night.

For your convenience, there is also an online book fair, which allows you to buy books from home. The online portion  of the book fair has a larger selection of books to choose from. Any orders made online will benefit the school and be  delivered to the school with no shipping costs. The online book fair runs from May 2nd to May 15th. You can access it  through our book fair homepage.

1st Grade Crayola Experience!

Crayola Fun with 1st Grade

The first grade students at Garden City Elementary went on a field trip to Crayola Experience in November, thanks to the District 279 Foundation. Students were able to go for free, and experienced a wide variety of creative activities. Some of those activities included learning how crayons are made, using melted wax to create their own pictures and naming their own crayons. These are just a few of the many fun learning activities that the First graders were a part of. We are very thankful to the District 279 Foundation for giving us this opportunity!
