Share your ideas regarding a new superintendent 

Osseo Area Schools is searching for a new superintendent, and your input is needed to help identify the qualities of a superintendent that are most important to our various stakeholders. Your perspectives will contribute to the school board's decision making as it chooses a new leader for the district, following the retirement of current Superintendent Kate Maguire. 

1) Attend one of the community meetings listed below. Free child care for ages 4-12 will be provided for those who reserve it in advance (subject to availability of staff); call 763-391-7114 by the deadlines noted below. 

Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2018 (English, Hmong, Spanish and Vietnamese language tables) Park Center Senior High Cafeteria Check in at 6:30 p.m.; Meeting 7–8:30 p.m. To reserve child care (ages 4-12), call 763-391-7114 by 4 p.m., Jan. 3 

Thursday, Jan. 18, 2018 (English and Spanish language tables) Maple Grove Senior High Cafeteria Check in at 6:30 p.m.; Meeting 7–8:30 p.m. To reserve child care (ages 4-12), call 763-391-7114 by 4 p.m., Jan. 11 

Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2018 (English, Hmong, Spanish and Vietnamese language tables) Osseo Senior High Cafeteria Check in at 6:30 p.m.; Meeting 7–8:30 p.m. To reserve child care (ages 4-12), call 763-391-7114 by 4 p.m., Jan. 17 

2) Or complete an online survey If you can’t attend one of the above meetings, share your input via this online survey. The survey will be available until 8 a.m., Thursday, January 25.

The second Fuel Up To Play 60 Walking Club took place on Saturday, November 18th at the Fair Oaks Elementary track.  It was a cool, but sunny day as several families came and walked, had a treat, and won prizes. 

We will have another event in March.  Stay tuned for more information!

What does “homework” mean to you and your family?


Come share your ideas and experience fun and creative ways to promote reading, writing, and math at home!
Who: all Fair Oaks families with their school age children (we are not able to provide daycare for younger siblings)

When: Thursday, November 30 6:00 - 7:00 PM

Where: Fair Oaks Elementary

Why: Talk and share with other families & teachers about “homework” through meaningful experiences:
* household chores * food preparation * money * * active play * table games * creative writing *

¿Qué significa “tarea” para usted y su familia?

¡Venga a compartir sus ideas y experimente formas divertidas y creativas de promover la lectura, la escritura y las matemáticas en el hogar!

Quién: todas las familias de Fair Oaks con sus hijos en edad escolar  (no podemos proporcionar guardería para hermanos menores)

Cuándo: jueves, 30 de noviembre de 6:00 - 7:00 PM

Por qué́: Hablar y compartir con otras familias y maestros acerca de la “tarea” a través de experiencias significativas:

IMG 8710It is with grateful hearts that we extend our thanks to the Free Bikes for Kidz organization.  On November 16th, Fair Oaks students and their families were recipients of 250 bikes and helmets.  There were gigantic smiles seen on kid (and volunteer) faces!  What an awesome night!!

Fair Oaks Students

On Saturday, October 28th, a few Fair Oaks families came out to brave the cold and walk a few laps around the track.  Thank you to the Fuel Up to Play 60 members and Mrs. George for walking and running with the families.  It was chilly, but fun! Click here to see more pictures from the event.

We will have another outdoor event on Saturday, November 18th.  More information to come!!!
