Elm Creek students partici[ated in the Hour of Code again this year. This was a worldwide event to introduce students to the world of computer programming. Here’s some information: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FC5FbmsH4fw
And here’s the link to the code.org website that we used at Elm Creek. https://studio.code.org/ There are four levels of courses here with a lot of lessons so this is a good place to start after the introduction in school.
If you or your child want to go even further, check out the links found on this site: https://hourofcode.com/us/beyond
If your child has a 1:1 iPad and would like to try some coding apps at home, Scratch, Jr. and Tynker are available to download in Self-Service. They can also access the Code.org website from the link above.
