Elm Creek is now searching for Minnesota Reading Corps tutors for the 2018-19 school year. If you'd love to help children grow their reading skills, succeed in school and get extra support, you can be trained to serve as a tutor with Minnesota Reading Corps.
Tutors come from many backgrounds and include recent high school and college grads, career changers, stay-at-home parents/grandparents, and retirees. They receive extensive training, and coaching support. In return for their service, tutors earn a living allowance, education award, federal student loan forbearance, and other benefits.
Tutors are specially-trained AmeriCorps members who work with students needing a boost to catch up to grade level in reading. Students served by this evidence-based program experience strong growth – in their test scores, other school work, and confidence. Reading Corps has served more than 200,000 Minnesota students in schools throughout the state - including Elm Creek Elementary! Find out how you can make your mark by making a difference.
