Now through Thursday, December 19th - Please help bring happiness and joy to many families in our community by donating a new, unwrapped toy during this holiday season. Collection boxes can be found in every classroom! Toys for teenagers are in special need: make-up, books, video games, dart boards, CD's, theater tickets gift certificates, etc.

|5th Graders Learn About the Brain|
|Graduate students and professors from the University of Minnesota recently visited Basswood 5th Graders during Brain Awareness Week. Students were able to see and learn about various animal and human brains.|
First Graders Visit Solos Pizza Cafe
The Basswood first graders visited the Maple Grove Solos Pizza Cafe recently to learn first hand how the business of making pizza operates. They then got to enjoy the results of their experience!
6th Graders Dissect Eyes...
To enhance the "Light, Sight, and Color" science unit, 6th graders dissected sheeps' eyes recently. Students took a close look when locating and identifying the parts of the eye, including the lens, vitreous humor, aqueous humor, optic nerve, and the colorful iridescent retina. It was quite an "eye-opening" experience!
We Scare Hunger Campaign at Basswood Sets Record!
