Pennies for Patients
Pennies for Patients: Kids making a huge impact on patients lives. Pennies for Patients is a service learning, character education and philanthropy program that gives students a unique experience by making a difference through teamwork- working together to aid thousands of children and adults in the fight against blood cancers like leukemia. How it Works: Students collect money April 14th-April 28th. The money can come from friends or relatives or underneath the couch cushions. What's important is that it's collected. Students not only enjoy participating, but feel a great sense of pride in helping others. Their efforts will gain the gratitude of blood cancer patients everywhere.
Please expect to see information coming home April 8th regarding our drive! There will also be a little box (for K-5 students) to keep money in until they are ready to donate it!
Step To It Challenge!
WE NEED YOUR REGISTRATION!!
What Is the Step To It Challenge?
The Step To It Challenge is a four-week physical activity campaign that motivates people of all ages and abilities to become more physically active. Family members, coworkers, schoolmates, neighbors, and friends come together to participate in this friendly competition among communities.
How Does It Work?
Registration is open now until May 3rd. The school with the most registrants by May 3rd wins a visit from TC, the conditioning coach, and a MN Twins player! We were honored to win this visit last year! Please help us again this year! Go to steptoit.org and sign up your family and group yourselves with Basswood! From May 3rd through May 30th, track your physical activity by recording your steps online. Log your physical activity daily or weekly on your Step To It account. All steps will be counted in your community’s step totals in the competition.
Be Active Throughout the Day
Active Living, integrating physical activity into your daily routine, is a great way to stay active during and after the Step To It Challenge. Consider replacing a short car trip with a walk or a bike ride, or take transit to work, which includes a walk to and from the stop at each end.
Step To It Mobile
You can view this Step To It web site on your mobile phone or tablet. When you use your phone, or other device with a small screen, you can only view the My Account and My Activity pages.
