Minnesota Winners at Basswood Elementary
Troy Schreifels, Assistant. Director of Facilities and Transportation Operations for ISD 279 visited Basswood Elementary to recognize two students for winning the Minnesota School Bus Safety Poster Contest!
They each won a $35 Barnes and Noble gift card as well as tickets to a Twins Game for a special event.
They will each have the chance to be recognized at the game by the Minnesota Twins & MN State Patrol on the field prior to the game!Congratulations Allison and Emily!
Good Bye 6th Graders!
The sixth graders from Basswood enjoyed a beautiful day biking to and from Weaver Lake Park for their End-of-the-Year celebration! While at the park they enjoyed many fun activities.

Community Partnership with Boston Scientific
Due to the generosity of some Basswood parents who work at Boston Scientific, we are able to create a partnership so our students can receive more exposure to STEM. Students in grades 4-6 will be working with this partnership for a special lesson in the coming weeks.

5th graders learned about the "HEART SMART" - the circulatory system: the heart, veins, arteries, and some of the useful health products created by Boston Scientific that are used in the body. Students also learned about the importance of exercise and eating healthy as it relates to the circulatory system!
