Art history and appreciation are important and relevant to the study of art. Artists who have made significant contributions in painting, sculpture, drawing and other media areas are studied throughout the art program. In addition, students will be taught to look at art objectively and learn how to analyze and judge works of art. They will learn to discuss their observations and opinions and develop an understanding of the importance of art in society and the world. Career exploration will be encouraged and discussed in all areas. For students considering a career in art, a broad base of experience in various media is highly encouraged. Some of the student artwork from Park Center is displayed at Artsonia. NOTES:
